Zeta Films Presents: “Google opens up the paid search flood gates”

by Hugo Guzman on May 18, 2009

Make no mistake about it. Google is a for-profit corporation. And as such, they can and will make decisions that improve their bottom line even if those same decisions potentially mean a decrease in the end-user’s experience (not to mention outrage on the part of big brands).

A good example is Google’s decision to allow non-brand entities to bid on branded keywords and use those keywords in their paid search ad copy. This Adwords trademark policy could potentially misguide end users to third-party sites even if their initial intent was to navigate over to the official brand channel.

But not to worry. There are those waiting in the wings to take advantage of Google’s end-user oversight…

I have been using Adwords for the last 2 years and i can only say that it increased my online sales by about 20%. The pay per click cost of Adwords is even cheaper than Adbrite. I love Adwords.

Adwords is really good for promoting a product that you want to sell online. It is very important that you geoatarget your intended audience so as to avoid wasting your advertising funds.

Adwords is really good in driving traffic to your website. however, they are very strict right now and they would not easily approve websites that they thought have low quality content. “.
